WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe in the triune God.

Creator, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who guides and brings about the creative and redemptive

work of God in the world.

We believe that each person is unique and valuable.

All people are children of God no matter their beliefs, questions, doubts, or their culture, race, age, sexual orientation, gender, abilities, economic status, or nationality. Through our faith community's practices, we seek to remind all people that they are valued and loved.

We believe that the persistent search for God produces an authentic relationship with God.

Engendering love, strengthening faith, dissolving guilt, and giving life purpose and direction.

We believe the Sacrament of Baptism to be a practice of faith.

The sacrament of baptism is an outward and visible sign of the grace of God. Through baptism a person is joined with the universal church, the body of Christ. In baptism, God works in us the power of forgiveness, the renewal of the spirit, and the knowledge of the call to be God’s people always.

We believe that ALL people are invited to join us at Christ's table for the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

In the sacrament of Holy Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper or Eucharist, meaning “thanksgiving,” we hear, taste, touch and receive the grace of God revealed through Jesus Christ in a unique way. The Communion Table is open to all who wish to know the presence of Christ and to share in the community of God’s people.

We celebrate the Feast of Holy Communion every week and ALL, including our children, are welcome.

We believe we are called to be a united & uniting church.

The United Church of Christ, the denomination of which we are a part, has no rigid formulation of doctrine or attachment to creeds or structures. Love and unity in the midst of diversity are our greatest assets.

We believe God calls us to be servants in the service of others.

As we follow in the way of Jesus, we seek to care for the marginalized, the oppressed, the poor, all our neighbors and all children, the least, the last, the lost and the lonely, to care for all of creation, and to be good stewards of the earth's resources.

We believe in the power of peace.

And work for nonviolent solutions to local, national, and international problems.

We are a people of possibility.

In the United Church of Christ, members, congregations, and structures

have the breathing room to explore and hear the voice of a still-speaking God.

What we believe about the Bible.

What we believe about the Bible and Homosexuality.

SEXUALITY AND OUR

FAITH

We affirm that sexuality and spirituality are intricately connected and that both are gifts from God. We profess that we are ALL created in the image of God.
