RETIREMENT CELEBRATION
RETIREMENT CELEBRATION
With deep gratitude and warm celebration, we announce the retirement of Rev. Dr. Jo Hudson, who will be stepping down after 30 years of faithful and transformative ministry.
Dr. Hudson has been a guiding light in the progressive Christian movement, known for her unwavering commitment to justice, compassion, inclusion, and love. Through her visionary leadership, prophetic preaching, and pastoral care, she has touched countless lives and helped shape communities rooted in God’s radical welcome.
Over the course of her ministry, Dr. Hudson has led with courage, conviction, and grace—whether advocating for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the church, walking alongside the marginalized, or calling us all to live out the Gospel in tangible, life-changing ways. Her presence in the pulpit, in hospital waiting rooms, and in the community has been a gift to us all.
As she enters this new season of life, we celebrate her remarkable legacy and pray that retirement brings her the same joy, peace, and purpose that she has so generously offered to others. Though she is retiring from formal ministry, we know that her wisdom and spirit will continue to bless all who have the privilege of knowing her.
On Sunday, June 1, Jo will preach one of her last sermons from the New Church pulpit. We hope you will join us for a very special worship service. We know many people have their own churches to care for on Sunday mornings, so, even if you're not able to join us for worship, we hope you will plan to be present from 1pm-3pm for a fajita luncheon to celebrate and honor Jo's 30 years of ministry.
Please join us in honoring Jo for her extraordinary service and in wishing her every blessing on the journey ahead.
With heartfelt thanks,
newchurch
