Church Camp Changes Lives
Why Kids Go to Church Camp?
Because church camp changes lives. According to research conducted by the American Camp Association (ACA), diverse camp experiences lead to growth in self-confidence, leadership, social skills, and other important elements of positive youth development. This growth persists at least six months after the camp experience.
What is Slumber Falls?
Slumber Falls Camp is an outdoor ministry of the South Central Conference of the United Church of Christ. The twenty acre facility is nestled along the Guadalupe River. Cedar trees dominate the property, with cypress trees found along the river. An Indian mound and numerous fossils abound near the area known as Fossil Flats. While the camp is best known for its Christian summer camp for children ages 6-18, the facility is used by a wide variety of groups from all over Texas and the United States during most weekends of the year.
Who Should Attend?
Camp is for kids between the ages of 6-18. In addition to traditional church camps, Slumber Falls also hosts a variety of "themed" camps each week, such as Eco Camp, Sports Camp, and Geek Week.
New Church is deeply committed to making sure that anyone interested in experiencing church camp is able to do so. Scholarships are avaialble.
