We have an active youth ministry led by Reverend Yadi Martinez Reyna. In addition to meeting each week, our youth also assist in leading worship, go on mission trips,  have lock-ins, complete service projects, and attend summer camp at Slumber Falls.



Rev. Yadi Martinez Reyna

Yadi Martínez Reyna is a bilingual Latinx gender non-conforming artist, UCC Ordained Minister, and borderlander, born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. In addition to being an associate pastor for New Church, Yadi serves as the LGBTQIA Unconscious Bias Awareness Facilitator with ten+ years of experience working with young people in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metropolitan area. Their work includes using arts and networking skills to create community events, retreats, leadership conferences, and safe spaces. Yadi is a certified facilitator in the Our Whole Lives (OWL) curriculum, which provides comprehensive sexuality education for young people. 

Joseph Ossorio

Joseph Ossorio is a volunteer Youth Leader. Joseph and his wife, Stephanie, have been In his free time, Joseph can be found binge-watching shows on Netflix, playing with his dogs, and experimenting in the kitchen. He is an amateur photographer and loves to cook.members of New Church since moving to the Dallas area in 2019. Joseph is a licensed marriage and family therapist associate who works with individuals and families with a variety of backgrounds and challenges, and has a special talent for child counseling. Joseph is a certified facilitator in the Our Whole Lives (OWL) curriculum, which provides comprehensive sexuality education for young people. 

Juan Pablo "JP"



JP is currently serving as a Youth Ministry Intern. JP was a member of one o the very first New Church Youth Groups and is a graduate of the OWL program. He love technology, speaks all things mine craft and is a great addition to our leadership team.

Our youth meet weekly during our regular weekly worship service. Meetings are led by Rev. Yadi Martinez and include a variety of progressive themes and lessons.



Immigration Immersion Event

June 5 – 9, 2022


Through these five days, we will invite our youth to step into the rich culture of the Rio Grande Valley with its food and latino/a/x heritage. Together with the group, Angry Tias and Abuelas, our youth will learn about asylum seekers and help provide necessities for health care and safety. They will learn firsthand about human dignity and justice. Soon, we will start gathering hygiene kits, blankets, and other items for the trip. More information will be coming soon.
